Te escribí un poem

October 11, 2025

On October 11, from 4-6pm, Grupo Ñ presents Te escribo un poem, a bilingual poetry reading featuring Andrea Granera, Karl Holmqvist, and Nikki Ochoa. The event brings together writers who will read poems in English, interwoven with traces of Spanish and German, exploring how language shapes both personal and collective expression.

The reading takes place within Defining Ñ, a residency and exhibition by the Los Angeles–based collective Grupo Ñ, founded in 2023 by artists Sophia Le Fraga, Michele Lorusso, and Pedro Alejandro Verdin. Resembling a working office with a standard printer and bookmaking station, the exhibition becomes a site of dialogue and experimentation, unfolding over time as the installation transforms each week. The artists regularly modify the wall display, vitrine, and video projection to reflect their process of exchange. This week’s poetry reading marks the third iteration of the installation, continuing the collective’s exploration of how language expands and complicates the act of self-definition.

Alongside the reading, Grupo Ñ presents the final edition of their ongoing publication, produced onsite as part of their exhibition. This concluding volume brings together materials from the previous two editions, which included scanned excerpts from contemporary art books, visual references, and transcribed conversations among the collective, documented by poet and writer Lupita Limón. Many of the images featured in the publication also appear within the installation itself, serving as a record of the exchanges shared among the collective over the past three weeks.

Sophia Le Fraga works with objects, images, and poems to explore how language circulates, accumulates, and leaves traces over time.

Michele Lorusso is an artist whose practice explores language as a performative device that shapes reality while revealing its limits through words, objects, and space.

Pedro Alejandro Verdin works across painting, music, writing, and curation, creating projects that weave tenderness with playfulness.
